Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A reminder video as holy month of Ramadan is near

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

[Qur’an; 2:185]

Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. By observing fast, one not only abstains from food and drinks but also from evil doings such as backbiting, lying, cribbing about others, doing extravagance and everything that makes Eeman of a person weak.

There is a lot of preparation done by us before the commencement of Ramadan about how to eat, how to exercise and how to keep oneself hydrated but one of the most important objectives, that is ‘how to pray’ and how to utilize one’s time in order to fulfill the true realization of this month is often left aside.
