Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. 2015 Paris-attack suspect sentenced to jail

Paris : 2015 Paris attack-suspect Salah Abdeslam on Monday is found guilty of attempt-to-murder and has been sentenced to 20-year jail term.

As per the media reports Abdeslam has been termed as a jihadist and is said to have carried out the attack with the help of his aide Sofiane Ayari.

Abdeslam had already been serving a jail term under a separate charge in connection with the 2015 Paris attacks which led to the death of 130 people.

Further, the prosecutors have demanded a 20-year-jail-term in both the cases.

Abdelsam was also involved in a shootout with the Brussels police in 2016 following which he was arrested by the police. Four police officers were said to be wounded in the incident. (ANI)
