Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School concludes ‘Zenith 1.0’


Aligarh, November 27: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Tabassum Shahab attended the valedictory function of the Annual Literary & Cultural Fest ‘Zenith 1.0’ at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) as the chief-guest. 



On the occasion, he exhorted young students to discharge their assigned duties with devotion. The Pro-Vice Chancellor further urged students to achieve their goals with sustained efforts.

Motivating the students, Prof Shahab added, “for any great dream to come true, it is necessary to dream big and to have faith in realising the dream.”  

Guests-of- honour, Prof Asfar Ali Khan (Director, Directorate of School Education), Prof Abid Ali Khan and Prof Mohd Parvez distributed prizes to winners of various competitions.

Mrs Amina Malik (Principal, AMU Girls School), Dr Mohd Ilyas and Mr Alamgeer were also present during the prizes distribution ceremony.

More than 150 students from nine different schools participated in the festival. Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School won the overall trophy. AMU Girls School stood second, while Senior Secondary School (Girls) stood third.

Mr Habib Ahmad (Event Coordinator), Mr Ashhad Jamal, Dr Syed Faiz Zaidi and Mr Ghufran Ahmad were also present.

Sabeeh Ahmad proposed the vote of thanks. Raza Haider Zaidi and Abdullah Haider conducted the programme.
