Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Dept of Home Science organises lectures with ICAR grant

Aligarh, March 29: The Department of Home Science, Aligarh Muslim University recently organised lectures with the ICAR grant for strengthening and development of students.

Professor Rameshwari Pandaya, Head, Department of Extension and Communication, Faculty of Family and Community studies, M S University, Baroda, Vadodara, and Gujarat attended the programme to deliver special lectures on ‘Extension and Communication approaches in the field studies’ and ‘Proposal writing for corporate social Responsibility.’

During the lectures, Prof Pandaya motivated students for interventions in community and need based programs. She focused on various issues and problems in extension and communication works like need and demand of health and sanitation for women, strengthening educational system for girls and proposal writing of research projects.

An interactive session followed the lectures during which Prof Pandaya answered queries of students attending the programme.

Prof Farzana Alim, Chairperson, Department of Home Science delivered the welcome address. Faculty members, students and scholars of Home Science and other streams were present on the occasion.
