Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

20 Students and Scholars associated with Dept of Zoology qualify JRF, NET and GATE exams

Aligarh, March 29: Bringing laurels to Aligarh Muslim University, atleast 20 students and scholars attending the MSc and Phd courses from the University’s Department of Zoology have qualified the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), National Eligibility Test (NET) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Examinations conducted this year.

Professor Wasim Ahmad, Chairperson, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University said that Phd research scholars Miss Sabia Mumtaz, Miss Ansari Naheda, and Mr Md Owais Ansari along with three MSc Zoology pass out students Mr Zamin Ali, Miss Shehnaz and Miss Beenish Mirza have qualified the JRF while four Phd students namely Miss Monika Sharma, Miss Ritika Gupta, Mr Md Faheem Ahmad and Miss Hadiya Husain have cracked the NET Exam.

Prof Wasim further confirmed that four Phd students, Miss Sobia Khatoon, Miss Shagufta Yasmeen, Mr Mohammad Sultan Ahmad and Mr Mustafij-ur Rahman and six MSc students, Miss Homa Fatma, Mr Saifullah Ansari, Miss Rafat Fatma, Mr Abdur Rauf Samim, Mr M Asim Haq and Miss Shafia Khan have qualified the GATE Exams.

The Chairperson of the Department of Zoology has congratulated all the students and the teaching fraternity of the Department for extending their whole-hearted support to the students. He also pointed out that the Department of Zoology has   taken serious initiatives to train and motivate the students for different competitive examinations.
