AMU students Organization came forward to donate around 110 blankets

Winter season is the coldest season of year, starts from the month of December and ends in the month of February. December and January are the peak winter months and counted as the coldest months when temperatures falls around 10 to 15°C (means 50 to 59°F) in the northwest regions of country. High speed cold winds blow from the north region in the peak winter months. We have to face a thick fog which often hides the sun light causing cold becomes severe all through the winter season.
Generally poor people do not have sufficient sources to keep themselves warm in these chilly winters. Hundreds of people are in danger of becoming ill or even dying because of the cold. On December 18, 2016 “SOCH…beyond the imagination”, an AMU students Organization came forward to help these kind of people & donated around 110 blankets
through Dr. Jameela Majid Siddiqui Memorial Blanket Donation Drive. The whole drive is organized by SOCH & its members and Dr. Shahid Jameel invited as a Chief Guest accompanied with his wife.
Soch targeted those persons who do not have a proper diet, no shelter or have depleted shelter in winter season & also vulnerable to the cold this winter. Many of them sleep on streets, subways, footpaths, doorways or park benches under the open sky & devoid of all basic utilities.
This is a small step of SOCH for providing some relief to these needy people in this freezing winter season. During this whole drive members of SOCH actively participated & helped in finding needy people in Sir Syed Nagar.
Dr. Saleem Mohammad Khan, Dr. Danish Suhail, Dr. Kashif Razi, Faraz Murtaza, Amood Gulzar, Furqan Ahmad, Sartaj Alam, Adil Naseer, Monirul Islam, Salman Khan Yusufzai ,Humera Kabir, Anam were present during this donation drive
