Law Day celebration at AMU Malappuram, Law Society organized Legal Quiz and speeches.

Law Society, Department of Law observed 26th Nov 2016’ as Law Day at AMU Malappuram Centre. The Programme was followd by Legal Quiz Competition for students.
The inaugural session started with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran followed by introductory speech by Shivdendra Raj Singhal, Secretary Law Society. Shivendra welcomed all the guest and eleboratd the various co curricular activities of Law Society.
Student speaker, Palak Malhotra discussed importance of Constitution in our legal system.
Director of the Centre, Prof A. Nujum while inaugrating the Law Day celebration paid respect to the founding father of Indian Constitituon, specially to Dr. B. R Ambedkar for giving such a beautiful document. He supported the protection of fundamental Rights. He advocated that feedom of expression and speech is basic requirement for every one in every instituion. He appreciated the efforts of Law Deparment in nurturing the talent of Law students to make them successful Lawyers and Judges. 
Dr. Faisal K.P, Coordinator of Department of Law, urged that it is the collective responsibility of every citizen of the country to protect, preserve and extend the values enshrined  in the Constitution. He also raised concern over the reports of fake encounters and granting punishment on the basis of false evidences.
Mohammad Abu Shahid, Assistant Professor, spoke on the topic, ‘Importance of Law Day celebration’, he observed that the current situation of Law and Lawyer is not good. The traditional outlook of Law profession must change in the light of new development. Alternate Dispute redressal mechanism may help to regain confidence in Law and legal system.
Shahnawaz Ahmed Malik, Assistant Professor, while spaking on the topic,’’ Law and Law Day’’, expressed his gratitude towards framers of Constitution and explained the meaning of Law. He was of the view that prime objective of any Law should be to provide Justice. He discussed the principle that ‘’Lex Malla Lex Nulla (A bad Law is no Law)’’. He was of the view that on this Day when Constituition was adopted by the Constituent Assembly in 1949, we should relook towards our legal system to make it more effective and less time and money consuming.
Amir Faisal, student of Law presented Vote of Thanks to the audience.  Miss Suman, students of V semester anchored the programme. 

Same day, Law Society organized Legal Quiz Competition which was based on written round and two Buzzer rounds.
Manoj Tomar & Praveen Kumar stood First while Ramsha Tanveer & Ghazi Gufran and Vaibhav Pandey & Shah Momin stood second jointly while Anwar Ansari & Mursalim Khan came third.
Saddam Husain along with Mohammad Shadab and Devesh Kumar Chauvia were the organizers of Quiz Competition. Student organizers such as Naushiq, Apurva Sharma, Palak Malhotra, Fasiha Naz Fatima, Razia, Syed Nishat Fatima, Naseeba, Suman, Abdullah, Amir Faisal ,Kaushal Ali sheikh helped organize the event in smooth manner.
Teacher In charges of Law Society Mr. Shahnawaz Ahmed Malik, Mr. Mohd. Abu Shahid and Miss Neelam Faizan along with Student Secretary Law Society, Shivendra Raj Singhal supervised the legal Quiz Competition.
