Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

A delegation from JDT Islam Orphanage  and Educational institutions under the supervision of academic coordinator Mr. Hamid K came to visit Aligarh Muslim University . JDT Islam is one of th renowned orphanage in South India. It extends outstanding services to orphans and destitute. JDT Islam was started in 1922 as an orphanage with the intention  to shelter,feed, and care for the unfortunate miserable children. JDT Islam recieved the national award for Best Institution in the field of Child Welfare from Honourable President of India Sri. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee. Now there are 443 orphans and 12,000 students who are getting education in the 26 different institutions run by JDT Islam. Mr. Hamid K. came to Aligarh Muslim University  to meet SSMFI President Mr Perwez Siddiqui and he make him to meet VC of AMU and Director  of Distance Education Mr. Nafees Ansari. Mr Hamid K. proposed to open the Distance Education of AMU in Kerala. The Director promise him to see this matter. At end he invited the VC of AMU and Mr Md Perwez Siddiqui  to visit the institutions of JDT Islam. They promised him to go there.
