Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Donation of Rs. 3.25 Lakh for the construction of Phase 2 building of the New Management Complex.

ALIGARH September 1: Responding to the call of the Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, the staff members and research fellows of the Department of Psychology have made an impressive donation of Rs. 3.25 Lakh for the construction of Phase 2 building of the New Management Complex.

Prof. Parvaiz Talib, OSD, New Management Complex told that the Vice Chancellor had recently issued an appeal to the members of the AMU fraternity to contribute to the ambitious project.

Prof. Talib said that on initiation of Prof. (Hafiz) M. Ilyas Khan, Chairman, Department of Psychology, the teaching and non-teaching staff and research scholars, including post-doctoral fellows, have come forward to take the lead in a big way by contributing an impressing sum of Rs. 3.25 Lakh towards the construction of buildings of the New Management Complex under Phase 2.

Prof. Talib informed that more than 150 teachers of the University have also responded to the Vice Chancellor’s call and several others have pledged their contributions towards the novel project.

He said that Mr. Frank F. Islam, a distinguished alumnus of the University and a resident of United States of America, has, in a novel way of philanthropy, contributed a major share of the Management Complex project as a sum of Rs. 18 Crore while a one-third share of the Project, which is Rs. 6 Crore, needs to be raised by the University to complete the project.

Expressing happiness on the development, the Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah said that the exemplary act of philanthropy displayed by the faculty members and staff of the Department of Psychology shall go a long way in University’s development. He said that their contribution is worth emulating by other members of the AMU community.

Lt. Gen. Shah said that the construction of the new building of the Management Complex with the state-of-the-art facilities would add to the University’s pride and help our students excel in their studies.

Meanwhile, Prof. Parvaiz Talib has said that the “project is an advance stage of completion and may become functional by November 2016”.
