Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Dr Rahman nominated as member for annual meeting of ISoP

Aligarh, July 11: Dr Syed Ziaur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College has been nominated as Member of  Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 16th Annual Meeting of International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP).

Dr Rahman, who is also the National Secretary of Society of Pharmacovigilance India (SoPI), informed that the upcoming ISoP meeting will be held first time in India in collaboration and jointly in association with 16th annual meeting of SoPI during 17-19 October 2016 at ITC Mughal Hotel, Agra.

He also informed that the former Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, JNMC, Prof K C Singhal, is the Chairman of LOC and Co-Chairman of the Scientific Committee.

Around 100 foreign participants and a few hundred Indian delegates are expected to attend this joint meeting which will also host a day-long pre-conference workshop on October 16, 2016. Large number of country representatives of WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring (WHO-UMC), delegates from various pharmaceutical companies, institutions and associations had already submitted abstracts of their research papers and confirmed their participation either in the conference or workshop.
