Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Brig. S. Ahmad Ali today presented a degree of Master in Education to research scholars

ALIGARH June 17: The Officiating Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali today presented a degree of Master in Education to Dr. Asim Rizvi, Nida Rahman, Hala and Malik Azeem Anwar, which has been awarded by the Ohio State University (OSU) of USA.

Brig. Ali congratulated these research scholars and hoped that having this degree they will now perform much better in their respective area of research.

The Aligarh Muslim University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ohio State University in 2013 to build a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – Education and Research (STEM-ER) Centre at AMU for providing opportunity for education and research in areas of mutual expertise and benefit.

A two year dual degree programme was implemented jointly by the AMU and OSU under which two female and two male research students were to be trained in teaching STEM-ER. The above four students of the Aligarh Muslim University, selected under the ambitious programme, completed their dual degree Master in Education programme at Ohio State University.

Prof. Nesar Ahmad, Department of Computer Engineering and Prof. Javaid Akhtar, Controller of Exams were also present.
