Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Noted scholar Prof. Asloob Ansari passes away


ALIGARH May 4: Professor Asloob Ahmad Ansari, a noted scholar, critic, educationist and a retired professor of the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University, passed away today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. Prof.  Ansari, 91, is survived by two daughters.
A man of distinct scholarship, Prof Ansari, was born at Saharanpur in 1925. He joined AMU in Intermediate and after completing BA (OXUN) and MA in English, he became a teacher of English at AMU. After his retirement in 1985, Prof. Ansari dedicated himself to promotion of scholarship and literature. He had authored 34 books and hundreds of articles, published in peer reviewed national and international journals.
Prof. Ansari received several prestigious awards including Bahadur Shah Zafar Award and Pakistan President's award for his work on Allama Iqbal. The Gorakhpur University also conferred upon him an honorary D. Lit.
Prof. Ansari will be laid to rest today after Zohar Namaz at University graveyard, Minto-E.
