Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

ABK Girls School’s new building inaugurated

ALIGARH May 25: The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah inaugurated the newly constructed building of the A.B.K. Girls School yesterday evening. Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig. S. Ahmad Ali was also present on the occasion.

In his inaugural speech, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah said that there was an acute shortage of good schools for Muslims and we need to pay special attention to school education. He said people should work for establishing schools for girls with quality education.

He said that the schools run by the University work as feeder institutions and the University administration has paid special attention to upgrade these institutions in order to raise the academic standard of the University. He pointed out that a strong foundation was essential to make a strong building. He said that a Directorate of Schools has also been established, which is giving special focus on raising the academic standard of all AMU schools. He said that the University administration will provide necessary funds and assistance to the school. He thanked the HSCL to complete the construction work within the projected time.

Addressing on the occasion, AMU Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig. S. Ahmad Ali expressed hope that the students of ABK Girls School will achieve new horizons of success as they have better facilities and space to focus on their studies.

Welcoming the guests, University Engineer Prof. Anwar Khursheed informed that the school building had been completed in 3.07 Crore and the remaining fund will be used in the infrastructural development of the school.

Prof. Khursheed said that the University administration was committed to the academic as well as physical development of the University and several new residential Halls and office blocks have been constructed under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Shah.

Mr. Abbas Niyazi, Principal of the ABK School informed that the new building housed fourteen classrooms. He said that the building would initially accommodate seventh to tenth classes and teaching of the first to sixth classes will be conducted in the old building.

Mrs. Sabiha Simi Shah, Mrs. Rizwana Ali, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Director of the Directorate of Schools, Prof. Qaiyyum Husain, Manager, ABK School, Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, Registrar AMU, Prof. S. M. Javaid Akhtar, Finance Officer, Prof. Anis Ismail, DSW, Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Proctor and a number of senior teachers were present on the occasion.
