Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

The Vice Chancellor Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah accompanied by  Coordinators, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET-AMU)


The Vice Chancellor Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah accompanied by  Coordinators, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET-AMU), were graciously welcomed by Shri Girish Shankar, Secretary ,Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, and Director , Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), Government of India.  During this meeting VC, AMU  has emphasized the role and contribution of AMU towards the missions and objects of the Government of India. It was further explained that CARET, AMU  is a centre with a planned road map for becoming a technological partner and resource for DHI. The  automotive Industry specific current R&D activities at CARET, AMU are focused on Charging Infrastructure for Electric vehicles and System Integration Studies, to contribute to the FAME INDIA mission . CARET is aimed at producing entrepreneurs through indigenously developed pilot programs and provides support to automotive Industry to achieve commercial viability. At national level, CARET is on a pathway to contribute through its activities to MAKE IN INDIA, SKILL INDIA and STARTUP INDIA campaigns. This was the second visit of VC AMU to DHI. DHI expressed the appreciation that AMU is one of the few academic institution who has approached the Ministry and showed interest in working together in the future.
The Vice chancellor presented the Secretary, DHI a memento and explained the words of AMU Tarana “Jo abr yahan se uthega vo saare jahan par barsega”,  inscribed on the memento and extended invitation to visit AMU in the future.
