Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Quiz competition for the MBBS students

ALIGARH April 25: The Department of Physiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Physiology Quiz competition for the MBBS students.
The competition, which was open to students of 2014 and 2015 batches of MBBS students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, drew attention of a large number of students who took part in the initial screening round, in which 20 students, 10 from each batch were selected for final rounds.
Finally, ten teams, each consisting of 2 students, one from junior 2015 and one from senior batch 2014, participated in the grand finale, which was held at the LT3 of the JNMCH and comprised three rounds.
Anubhav Agarwal-2015 and Shahid Siraj-2014 secured the first prize, while the second prize went to Noor Ahmad Lari-2014 and Malik Beenish Iqbal­-2015 and third prizes were won by Lalit Raghav-2014 and Mohd. Saqib Alam-2015, respectively.
Addressing on the occasion, chief guest, Prof. Jamal Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Medicine appreciated the initiative taken by the Physiology department. He hoped that this kind of efforts will bear positive fruits.
Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Principal Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College presided over the function, while Prof. Shamshad Alam, Department of Pathology graced the programme as the guest of honour.
Prof. Rajiv Gulati, Chairman, Department of Physiology, elaborated on the idea and objective behind organizing such programmes. He hoped that this kind of events will be beneficial to teachers and students. He also appreciated the hard work of the faculty and staff for making the event a big success.
Prof. P. N. Singh and Prof. D. K. Agarwal judged the Quiz. Dr. Amina Sultan Zaidi conducted the programme and thanked the guests.
