Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

SOCH…beyond the imagination (an organization of Students of AMU) planning to start school for the children living in slums

SOCH beyond the imagination an organization of students of Aligarh Muslim University is planning to start a school for the children living in the Urban Slums of Aligarh. This organization is actively working in the field of educational upliftment of the poor children who are not able to go school due to financial reasons. The organization has taken the likely step earlier too as the organization run a literacy centre in shahanshahbad area which is the urban slum of Aligarh

SOCH is planning to start the same setup for the children of the slum opposite NSS office after having a base line survey in the area. The members including Sartaj Alam, Furqan Ahmad, Mohsin Hasan, Adil izhar,Adil Naseer, Vishant Pratap Singh, Kartik Gupta and the interns from the Social Work department of Aligarh Muslim University namely Naved Ayaz, Daniya Khalid, and Rachel Wahab 

The members prepare a survey report of 40 juggi’s accessing their modes of livelihoods and the count and details of per the survey approximate there are 240 children who reside there without the basic education.

When correspondent talk to Amood Gulzar regarding this project he said that we access their problem when we organize a warm clothes distribution drive we take this in the consideration that there should be a school like we have started in shahanshahbad and we thought this appropriate to have a survey before starting school. Inshallah very soon we will start school for them after getting a suitable place for work.

Yusra Azeez Khan (MSW) said that we are trying our level best to help the neediest. During the winters our team organize warm stuffs distribution drives and very soon we are going to launch the programmes for the women empowerment yusra added
