Only Zafar Sareshwala can arrange & make success AMU VC meeting with Prime Minister: Jasim

Please release
Aligarh 19.1.2016: Not only whole Aligarh Muslim University Community but Muslims of India received shock on the stand taken by Attorney General Shri Mukul Rohtagi during the hearing of AMU minority character case on 11 January 2016 in the Supreme Court wherein he said that according to view of the central government the AMU is not a minority institution. In this respect the stand of the Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis (FMSA) is that AMU is a minority institution and we should open channel of talks with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the issue. FMSA believes that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is continuously engaged in translating his developmental slogan ‘Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikas” on ground level and that “Sab” also include Muslim community.

The view of Dr. Jasim Mohammad, Director Forum for Muslim & Analysis (FMSA) is that AMU was established by Indian Muslims and its minority character should be continued as such. In this connection Muslim Forum believes that:

1.                    Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Prime Minister of country and the controversy over AMU minority character of AMU cannot be solved without his intervention because it is not only legal question but has political angle too.

2.                    That we should not only start dialogue about AMU minority character with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Indian government but Muslims should express their confidence in BJP and must minimize distance between them and ruling party.

3.                    The issue of minority character of AMU is the most important issue for Muslim Forum. For us the interest of AMU is higher than any individual. Muslim Forum is working only in the interest of AMU.

4.                    That the Vice-Chancellor of AMU Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah should immediately meet the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and held talks with him an AMU minority character issue.

5.                    Since Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken over charge, the Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Hyderabad) Shri Zafar Sareshwala is continuously making efforts to minimize the distance between BJP and Muslims. Muslim Forum opines that in this hour of crisis, we should take help from Zafar Sareshwala.

6.                    Muslim Forum believes that only Shri Zafar Sareshwala can arrange and make it success meeting between Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and AMU Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. Zameruddin Shah.

7.                    On the other hand Muslim Forum believes that if Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi seriously consider the issue of AMU minority character and bring a legislation in the parliament to declare AMU as a minority institution, then a fresh confidence  will be developed between Muslims and BJP which will be in national interest.

8.                    Muslim Forum believe that Muslim Personal Law Board should also held a meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to discuss and solve AMU minority character question.

9.                    We should realize that MAANU Chancellor Shri Zafar Sareshwala is continuously trying to develop a trust and relations between Muslims and BJP but at the sametime we must consider who were those people who had launched a disinformation campaign against Shri Zafar Sareshwala in the Muslim Personal Board meeting held at Jaipur last year.

Hence, Muslim Forum hope from AMU Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah that he will meet with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in University interest and requests MANUU Chancellor Shri Zafar Sareshwala to arrange such a meeting between AMU Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and make it success.

In the end Director Muslim Forum said that not a single member of Forum is associated with any political party. Forum always keeps Muslim interest above all things and always devote itself for achieving goodwill.

Dr. Jasim Mohammad
