Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Dr. Zakir Hussain Foundation, Aligarh organized a National Seminar on “Maintaining Peace and Communal Harmony: Role and Mutual Responsibilities on 24th January 2016. More than 250 participants from different affiliated institutions and Aligarh Muslim University attended the Seminar including Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi, President, India Islamic Culture Centre, Mr. Chandrakant, IAS, Commissioner, Aligarh Mandal, Mr. U.C. Srivastava, H.J.S., District Judge, Aligarh. Mr. Zaheeruddin Siddique, Judge, Human Rights Court, Aligarh, Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, Officiating Registrar, Mr. Zamirullah Khan, MLA, Aligarh Koil and Mr. Ajay Tomar, Senior Unit Manager, Dainik Jagran and several other distinguished scholars, experts, students and media personnel etc.

Dr. Shariq Aqeel greeted the audience and gave felicitation address. Prof. Anis A. Ansari, Convener and Hony. Patron gave his welcome address. Mrs. Sajida Nadeem, Organizing Secretary, ZHF gave a brief overview on the scope of the Seminar and highlighted the activities of Dr. Zakir Hussain Foundation, Aligarh.. Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi, the Chief Guest of the programme, delivered the keynote address. He emphasized the significance of communal harmony for building a peaceful, stable, secure and prosperous country. He said that all religions need to come together and cooperate with each other for the benefit of their followers and disciples. Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah, Vice Chancellor, A.M.U. Aligarh gave the presidential address. Mr. Zaheeruddin Siddique, Mr. Zamirullah Khan, and Mr. Ajay Tomar delivered speeches in the inaugural session. Special vote of thanks was given by Prof. Shadab Khursheed, Hony. Patron, ZHF. The Seminar included scientific sessions as detailed below: Role and Responsibilities in Maintaining  Communal Harmony- This session focused on humanitarianism. Session on Islam - Highlighted the teachings and principles of Islam towards communal harmony encouraging peaceful living with the neighbours and other fellow beings. The participants were greatly enlightened and felt rejuvenated with the proceedings of the Seminar. Each speaker spoke passionately and gave a clear message of how every religion accepts pluralism in promoting communal harmony and peace.

At this occasion, Bicycles were given as prizes to few winner students of Drawing and Paining Competition.

Aids and Appliances like Tricycles, Wheel Chairs and Sewing Machines were also distributed to poor needy disabled persons and women.

A Souvenir comprising the articles on the theme of the Seminar was released at the occasion
