Vice Chancellor of AMU Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah visits Senior Secondary School (Boys) and interact with the students

ALIGARH August 21: Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah today visited the Senior Secondary School (Boys) and interacted with the students. He expressed happiness on the majority of students taking classes and engaged in their studies in a routine manner.
Addressing a gathering of students, Gen. Shah said that a small group of disturbing elements was engaged in creating chaos and majority of students was seriously engaged in studies.
Issuing a stern warning to the disturbing elements, the Vice Chancellor said that miscreants will be identified and strong disciplinary action will be taken against them. He said that any attempt to creating hindrances in the peaceful academic environment will not be tolerated.
The Vice Chancellor, who was accompanied by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali, DSW, Prof. Anis Ismail, Registrar, Dr. Asfar Ali, directed the Proctor Dr. Mohd. Asif Khan to identify miscreants, and increase vigil in and around the University campus.
Gen. Shah said that the University administration was concerned for the welfare of the students and efforts are being made to ascertain the problems and issues faced by the Senior Secondary School students.
The Provosts and wardens of different halls of residence assembled at the gate of Administrative Block to persuade the students and ensure that work in the administrative offices are not hampered by agitated elements.
The Principal of the Senior Secondary School (Boys) is contacting the parents of students advising them to pursue their wards not to indulge in any negative activities.
Meanwhile, the Executive Council of the University, in its emergent meeting held yesterday night at the Vice Chancellor’s lodge, decided to institute a time-bound enquiry to investigate the matter. The University has constituted a three-member Enquiry Committee with Prof. Abu Qamar Siddiqui as its Chairman and Prof. Abdul Wahab and Prof. Arif Inam as members, which will submit its report to the Vice Chancellor by August 27, 2015.
