Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Independence Day reminds us our Duties: AMU former VC Prof. Sighbgtullah Farooqi

Aligarh 15.8.2015: Thousands of freedom fighters had laid down their lives to get the country free and after that it is our duty to keep intact that freedom. Every independence day reminds us for our duties. Presently India is galloping to be an economic power in the world said Prof. Sighbatullah Farooqi, former Vice-Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University while addressing independence day function in the Jamia Oxford Public School today. He appealed to students of school to contribute in national development.

Presiding over the function, Prof. Razaullah Khan said today we are facing a bigger challenge to save our secular Constitution more than independence. He reminded that India is a multi religious country and we have a secular Constitution but some communal forces are trying to disturb peace of the society and we must be alert from them.

Jamia Urdu Aligarh OSD Farhat Ali Khan said that culture of the country plays a vital role in the development of country and we should not leave our cultural heritage in the race of modernization.

Registrar of the Jamia Urdu Aligarh Shamoon Raza Naqvi said that we must continue our battle to remove poverty from society as without economic empowerment of deprived classes the country will not achieve true independence.

Dr. Mohd. Shahid said the real meaning of independence is responsibility and we should carry on struggle for social justice.

Dr. Jasim Mohammad said that our freedom fighters had got the country independent and now it is our duty to keep it free. We should launch a second freedom struggle against illiteracy to educate all sections of society. He appealed that people of society should come forward to spread education.

On the occasion Chief Guest unfurld the national flag and the students presented national anthem.

The students of the school presented patriotic songs on this occasion. Apart of the teachers and students of the school, many eminent dignitaries were present in the programme.
