Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

AMU calls to its Old boys in Alumni meet


ALIGARH August 7: The Aligarh Muslim University has declared that its annual Alumni Meet for the year 2015 will be organized on October 18-19, 2015.
Dr. Suhail Sabir, Chairman, Alumni Affairs Committee, has urged all alumni residing in different parts of the world to attend the get together and relive their student days in the University.
Dr. Sabir said that the University considers its alumni a potential partner in its development and their annual union will provide them with an opportunity to share the dreams and aspirations nurtured by the present generation of the students. He said that the Vice Chancellor of the University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah has expressed great hopes in University’s alumni and called upon them to visit their alma mater and witness the surge of development that has taken place in the University over the last few years. Gen. Shah said that AMU treated its alumni as one of the key stakeholders in its future growth.
Dr. Suhail Sabir informed that the “agenda items of the Alumni Meet are being finalized and will be posted for general information shortly”. He said that alumni’s visits to their departments and residential halls will also be organized to facilitate their interaction with faculty members and students.
Dr. Sabir said that a large number of alumni from USA and Gulf region have expressed willingness to participate in the grand celebration, coincided with the 198th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, founder of the University and one of the architects of modern India.
