Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Sir Syed Academy, AMU organized a Drawing and Painting Competition

AMU NEWS:   The Sir Syed Academy, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Drawing and Painting Competition as extension to the celebrations of Sir Syed Day, in which around seven hundred students from approximately forty institutions participated.


The theme of the competition revolved around life and teachings of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Aligarh Muslim University as an institution of National importance. The portraits of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his associates, illustrations of his sayings, view of the Buildings of AMU and calligraphy of the famous couplets related to Aligarh Movement were also part of the theme of the competition.
The students from AMU and its maintained institutions and various schools and colleges of Aligarh turned up in great numbers and displayed great enthusiasm.
Prof Tariq Ahmed, Director, Sir Syed Academy, AMU interacted with the participants and appreciated their talents and hard work. He said that the competition act as one of the best platforms to display the hidden talent of the students.


Dr Badar Jahan, Coordinator, Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery, AMU along with the panel of judges, was present throughout the competition and supported the cause.
