Open letter to Azam Khan, Cabinet Minister UP

okhla times
History repeats itself. So is the quote of great Philosopher and Statesman G.B. Shaw by the saying: Politicians are like Banana; earlier they are green. Later they turn in yellow; but none of them in bunch is straight.
Sher-e-Aligarh Azam Khan once called as student leader at AMU Aligarh in seventies started political tuning / training as flamboyant orator / charismatic community activist solely on Community / Institutional agenda to formulate the political platform for UP state leaderless and hapless majority of the Muslim community populace.
National Emergency paved the way to nurture such future self imposed / self centered so-called politicians as had been the traditional misfortune of the larger Muslim community of northern India. Circumstances favored Rampur boy to fine tune the career because of proximity and patronage of century’s great farmer reformist and son of the soil (Saifai in Etawah) Manyavar Shri Mulayam Sigh Yadavji.
Shri Yadavji had been quite supportive and exemplary secular in his credentials in upbringing Rampur’s son as community face since past over three decades. Indian politics owe great debt due to large hearted secular credentials and continuing crusade of Saifai Naresh who has turned Azam Khan into a veto power in today’s state power politics. All through his maiden journey Mohtaram Khan Sahib had been full of controversies and criticism due to his arrogance and rustic attitude along with heavy bargaining potential. No doubt overwhelming mandate/support of Muslim electors in 2012 State Assembly elections had been due to youth icon, tech savvy and visionary Yuvraj (Lok Sabha Member of famed Kannauj constituency having been represented by Dr Lohia and Sheila Dxit).
Political analysts had explicitly demonstrated that the clear mandate to party in 2012 Assembly poll (with outstanding support of Muslim community) was due to party credential and leaders like Prof Ram Gopalji and Yuvraj Akhilesh Bhaiya and not at all any pseudo community face. Indian society especially north Indian people had become quite secular and issues oriented than being emotional / community oriented. Hence the ever rising party (Samajwadi Party) attitude should be rationale and service oriented than caste / community based.
The sincerity of any community leader (Jb. Mohammad Azam Khan Sb) can be better gauged by the outcome in delivering the services in its major segments like health, education, employment, shelter, social / financial security etc. The least has been bothered for revamping the worst managed UP Sunni Waqf assets whose visionary, dynamic and scientifically managing CEO had been whimsically removed overnight from responsibilities in short duration betraying the larger interest of Waqf reforms agenda wherein mighty influential persons (proximity to power and builders) had been nabbed and were being nailed. If at all the Hon’ble Waqf Minister might have paved heed to suggestions / requirements of Waqf reform process, the whole state might have been able to self sustain in its financial resources for all major community services / requirements.
Through such vast / global forum we most humbly put forth proposal before the so called community leader whether he has justified his service agenda (even the party manifesto) in a significant period of 13 moths especially when the 16th LS General elections are round the corner. If serious introspection, proper action and vigilant steps are not taken well in time the party may suffer heavy and irreparable loss in the forthcoming general elections.
Developing single town as disciplined (Rampur city) has no meaning while the situation in his own ministry / departments in rest of the state is in shambles / doldrums. It is a great shame and embarrassment to the government that heavy state exchequer had been drained to one institution only at the cost of millions of deserving community people’s basic needs / assistance that too to satisfy the ego of the so called one community leader only. In secular nation and open society such appeasement type of actions might be suicidal to the prospects of the government and the ruling party.
At the end of this note, can Mohtaram Mohammad Azam Khan Saheb will enumerate his basic achievements especially to the Muslim community concern affairs rather than projecting achievements and tall talks about peacefully conducted Kumbh Mela for which he is slated to visit Harvard University again at the cost of poor men’s exchequer.
Any success in such arrangements is the the handiwork of close knit engineering and bureaucracy wings to whom he often behaves on abusive and degrading style. Our social, community, political leaders should be role model in their behavior, conduct and transparent establishment which hardly demonstrates in Mohtaram Khan Saheb.
Mohtaram Khan Saheb you are most humbly requested to come ahead above the narrow and whimsical, revengeful and arrogant attitude as it damages the healthy traditions put forth by our own community leaders like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Rafi Ahmad Qidwai, ZR Ansari Sb etc and above all the tenets and basic principles of Shariat. There is urgent need for social and economic audit of such high profile and flamboyant so called community / political leaders in order to safeguard the healthy democratic process in land of Kabir, Tagore, Gandhi & Nehru. Allah Hafiz, Jai Hind and Jai Samajwad
Sincerely yours
