Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

Hospital Acquired Infections as a big challenge : Dr Fatima Khan

AMU NEWS:   The Department of Microbiology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a National Symposium on "Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) and Anti Microbial Resistance" on December 9, 2014.
Dr Fatima Khan, Organizing Secretary of the Symposium, said that the prevention and control of infection must be given due importance by the microbiologists in order to reduce preventable part of healthcare associated with infections. She said that in India, lack of awareness, low resources and poor patients have led to emerging of the problem of HAI as a big challenge. She said that there was urgent need to tailor HAI practices keeping low resource setting in mind.
Dr Khan informed that the Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Lt Gen (Retd) Zameer Uddin Shah will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest whereas Dr Naranjeet Chaudhary, Director M&E and Health Services Delivery, PSI, India will be the Guest of Honour. She further said that Prof Haris M Khan will be the Organizing Chairman of the National Symposium.
The Symposium will be inaugurated at the JN Medical College, AMU.
