Prof. Tariq Mansoor is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously he has also served as Principal, J.N. Medical College, Chief Medical Superintendent, J.N. Medical College Hospital and Chairman, Department of Surgery. He is also the member of Medical Council of India since March 2015 for a period of four years. He is product of the first batch of prestigious Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, Aligarh. During his school days he has served as House Captain as well as School Captain. He did his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. A surgeon by profession with special interest in Breast and Thyroid Diseases, Prof. Tariq Mansoor has 33 years of Teaching and 35 years of Clinical experience. He has 90 publications to his credit and has guided 49 Postgraduate Medical Students for their Thesis as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor

CEC, AMU organized the third edition of â "Karbal Katha"

AMU NEWS ::In order to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA), grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family members, the Cultural Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organized the third edition of â "Karbal Katha" at the Kennedy Auditorium yesterday evening.
A play titled â "Khoone-e-Nahakâ", was also organized as part of the presentation, which was written by Prof. Asif Naqvi and directed by Prof. F. S. Shirani. The play, which was presented in the typical Iranian style of Qissa Goi (story telling) was scripted by Dr. Siraj Ajmali. The compositions were made by Syed Meraj Husain Nishat.
As a surprise to many, Ankit Malik, overwhelmed the audience with his refined Urdu dialogues and powerful presentation of a flawless acting.

A series of Mersiya, Noha, Soz and Salaam were presented by student participants including Shehbaz Hussain, Ali Raza, Nazar Hussain, Ali Saeed, Gulrez Hussain Zaidi, Faizan Ilahi and members of Drama Club Zameer Ahmad, Talha Abbasi, Moazzam Ahmad, Amit Kumar Singh, Shakir Ali, Faisal Jameel, Mabood Ansari and Yawar Habib extended their cooperation.
A large number of faculty members, students and academics from all over the country witnessed the play.
